Tyler joins the Cavaliers for his first year  in 2010. In 2009, he played for the Hudson  River Rats based in Hudson, WI.

Tyler played with former Cavaliers Craig Jilek and Joel Schaffer.

Tyler is currently enolled at  Kenyon College located in Gambler, Ohio. He is an member of the Lords Baseball Team. In week three he was chosen by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association as Honorable Mention for Division Player of the Week. He had an 2-0 pitching record and pitched 13 scoreless innings with nine hits, three walks, and eight strikeouts for that week.
